The Leaders of Tomorrow Awards is a youth volunteer recognition program which encourages youth nominees to continue their involvement in volunteerism and leadership activities. It also acknowledges youth volunteer contributions to the community.
Leaders of Tomorrow recognizes young people who have made outstanding contributions to the community through voluntary action in four age categories:
- 6 - 11 years of age
- 12 - 14 years of age
- 15 - 17 years of age
- 18 - 24 years of age
The communities involved with the program play an important role in nominating their young volunteers. Nomination information and forms are distributed to schools, churches, voluntary agencies and organizations, and individuals.
All nominees and representatives are invited to a public Awards Ceremony, held during Volunteer Week, and their names and activities are promoted so that they can serve as role models for other young people.
